Do you have a cluttered kitchen? Many people do. It’s unfortunate, but something can be done to store away all those random items like wax seals and mortar and pestles. And it’s very important to reduce the amount of papers that gather in your home. A lot of people will store lots of papers on their kitchen tables. Sometimes it can’t be helped because they don’t have an office space, but getting a filing cabinet or file storage system will help immensely. If you can find a nook in your home for one of these items, you’ll be on your way to a less clutter filled home. Many people don’t know where to start though. This article has a couple of ideas to get your started.
A good idea to achieve a decluttered kitchen is to do it once a month. De-clutter your kitchen on the first day of the month, or perhaps de-clutter on the first Saturday of the month. Alternatively, you de-clutter on the last of the month or the last Saturday of the month. Either one will work as long as you put the time commitment into it. On your selected day, you gather all the papers that have gathered and you sort them into your file cabinet or filing system. If anything has sensitive information on it, you’ll need to shred it protect your identity from being stolen. If you find that a once a month schedule is too overwhelming, you can change that to be a once a week schedule. Some people are successful if they take some time every Friday to sort through everything.
Getting your filing system in order is your key to success. Some people fill their filing cabinets with useless documents or they keep documents that they don’t need to keep. Going through your filing cabinet once a year will give you more space.
