Laundry Room Organization Tips

The laundry room is often one of the most abused rooms in the house. Unlike bathrooms which are just used for showers and bedrooms which are just used for sleeping, the laundry room often ends up as the place for doing the laundry, keeping dirty clothes as well as keeping clean clothes to be sorted later. This may not sound too much, unless you have a small laundry room. Since most laundry rooms are small, it’s safe to say that this is a problem we all have and it can be one of the most frustrating areas when organizing your home.

Most experts say laundry room organization is fairly easy. You just need a couple of items such as trash bins and cabinets, and you’re done. Well, let me tell you that this is not always the case. Having these tools is just the beginning of organizing your laundry room. You should also know how to use them in order to effectively organize your laundry area without taking too much of your space.

TRASH BINS

This is important for holding all kinds of trash such as the candy wrappers that can be found on kids’ pockets; however, you shouldn’t just use any kind of trash bins. If you are looking to save space, I suggest that you look for a trash bin that could be placed inside the cabinet or under the counter. You can also look for something that could be place on the shelf for a more effective way to save space.

SHELVES

We all know how important it is to have enough space for laundry detergents and other small stuffs. If you are looking for a cheaper alternative to add shelves, then use over- the- washer shelves instead. They are a great way to save on space, as they are just placed over the washing machine.

DRYING RACKS

These are a must have in every laundry room, as not all clothes are safe to be dried in the dryer. The common problem with drying racks is that they can take up a lot of space, but not the Telegant 100 Drying Rack. This drying rack can be placed on the wall above the dryer, which does not only save space but allows you to hang clothes easily as well.
